Mekknøken (local name is Meekknocken), Norway, is the highest mountain on Averøya island (751 meters). The mountain gets its name from the place called Meek on the south side of the mountain.  Knocken is a Norwegian word for mountian.

Mount Meeks (S 86.13 W 148.51) is a mountain, 2,470 meters, in the Queen Maud Mountains. Named by Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names for Lieutenant Harmon Taylor Meeks of U.S. Navy Squadron VX-6, a navigator on aircraft during Operation Deep Freeze 1966 and 1967.
